Haiti brings forth more villification of the U.S.

Monday, January 18, 2010
As I watch the 24 hour coverage of the humanitarian disaster that has struck the island of Haiti, two thought trains keep chugging through my mind. First, the lack of preparation for what James Wesley, Rawles calls TEOTWAWKI in my own sphere of influence is glaring. Second, no matter what the United States and our people do, we will once again be trashed from several corners of the world. It has already started:

Hugo Chavez: "I read that 3,000 soldiers are arriving, Marines armed as if they were going to war. There is not a shortage of guns there, my God. Doctors, medicine, fuel, field hospitals, that's what the United States should send," Chavez said on his weekly television show. "They are occupying Haiti undercover.""On top of that, you don't see them in the streets. Are they picking up bodies? ... Are they looking for the injured? You don't see them. I haven't seen them. Where are they?"

Comment on PressTV: "Amerikkka spends billions on wars, each US soldier in Afghanistan for a year costs 1 million dollars, the US just sent 30,000 more of their occupation forces in. So in reality Amerikkka has billions for war and fore Zionists but only comparative pennies of Haiti. Cuba is doing more then US, treating people and Cuba is under evil US embargo still!"

From the UKPA: A French minister has called for a United Nations investigation into the dominant US role in Haiti, saying international aid efforts were about helping the quake-stricken country, not "occupying" it.

Comment on Reuters: "Because US military is landing more soldiers in Haiti to take over the island instead of giving aid to the people. After 5 days and no help yet, that’s crazy. After all this please learn from China on rescue efforts. Hand over leadership to China now before more people die."

As usual, the U.S. is in a no-win situation. Had we done nothing, we would have been branded as cold-hearted imperialist bastards. So in we went. We sent our docs, our money, our technology, and our security (to protect everything). Now, we are the evil occupying force.

Fortunately for the people of Haiti, the people of France, the people of Kuwait, and the thousands of others we have sent aid to over the years, we don't really give a damn what the rest of the world thinks of us. We help because we have the cash. We help because we have the technology. We help because we have the skills. In short, we help, because we can. PERIOD.

Over $21 million raised from the American people via simple text messages. $100 million in government aid, and ...wait for it.....over $69 million in corporate driven aid. Check out the list here. Kind of makes Hugo's one plane, and the 30 tons of supplies that Iran offered up seem a little sparse doesn't it?
